CSTA Black Affinity Group

We are the CSTA Black Affinity Group!

The CSTA Black Affinity Group is a supportive community for Black computer science educators, providing a space to connect, share experiences, and advocate for equity in CS education. The group fosters professional growth and collaboration while amplifying Black voices within the CSTA community.

Our History

CSTA has launched several Affinity Groups to help create communities based on identity/demographic information. In the fall of 2020, a Pride Affinity Group was launched, with an eventual space on the CSTA Virtual Community, meet-ups, and spaces at CSTA events. Following this group with the launch of the CSTA Community, a form was created to apply to create an Affinity Group that would, in turn, have space on the virtual community, meet-ups, and spaces at CSTA events.
